It looks like US World Cup star Julian Green won't spend this season with Bayern Munich.

A report from Sky Sports News HD in Germany claims that Green will go out on loan to fellow Bundesliga club Hamburger SV.

Green, 19, however, was in the 18-man squad for Bayern's 1-1 draw at Schalke 04. He did not see any playing time.

Green became a household name in the United States soccer scene after being selected for the US World Cup squad by Jurgen Klinsmann and scoring a goal with his first touch after subbing on against Belgium in the Round of 16.

Born in Tampa, Florida, and raised in Germany, Green has been with Bayern's youth teams since 2010. He spent last season with Bayern Munich II, the club's development squad that plays in the German 4th division.

Green was part of Bayern's roster that traveled to the United States for a preseason tour. He appeared in the club's 2-1 loss in the AT&T MLS All-Star Game. However, considering the stable of talent at Bayern, it was expected that manager Pep Guardiola would loan Green out in an effort to get him more playing time.

Hamburg finished in 16th place in the Bundesliga last season. The team is led by captain Rafael van der Vaart, and they have made several moves recently to bolster the side, including acquiring Brazilian defender Cleber from Corinthians and chasing Tottenham Hotspur's German international Lewis Holtby.

Die Rothosen -- "the Red Shorts" -- opened the season with a scoreless draw at FC Cologne and then lost 3-0 at home on Saturday.

Green has been included in Klinsmann's US roster for next Wednesday's friendly with the Czech Republic in Prague.
