It's no secret: Thierry Henry's contract with the New York Red Bulls runs out at the end of this season.
But the soon-to-be 37-year-old Frenchman has been tight-lipped about what lies ahead in 2015. Until Red Bull's head of global soccer Gerard Houllier dropped a clue shortly after Henry led RBNY to a surprise 1-0 win over his old English Premier League club Arsenal.
Houllier told Big Apple Soccer: "I have an idea, I think he wants to retire, but we need to check with him."
Henry was the star of the show on Saturday afternoon at Red Bull Arena, where he was honored by a pregame tifo from the South Ward. He also delivered the first-half corner kick that led to the only goal of the afternoon scored by MLS leading scorer Bradley Wright-Phillips.
The Red Bulls captain was asked about Houllier's comments after the match, but Henry stuck to the talking points he's been dishing out all season.
"Oh he said that?" Henry told reporters. "Nothing else to say. We'll talk at end of season."
