Independent Review Panel rescinds red card punishment issued to Sporting KC's Aurélien Collin

NEW YORK – Sporting KC called for justice after Aurelien Collin saw red on against Columbus, and justice they got.

The Independent Review Panel has rescinded the fine and one-game suspension for the red card issued to Collin after he clashed with Crew forward Adam Bedell the 55th minute of last Wednesday's match (VIDEO). Kansas City submitted an appeal for review of the play, in which Collin was judged to have struck Bedell with a high elbow while challenging for a header.

The appeal was unanimously upheld by the Panel, and Collin will be available when SKC face the LA Galaxy on Saturday at Sporting Park (6 pm ET, ESPN 2 in the US, TSN2 in Canada).

The three-member panel consists of one representative from the U.S. Soccer Federation, Canadian Soccer Association and Professional Referees Organization (PRO). For more on the red card review process, CLICK HERE.
