All-Star: Fan XI will be announced Wednesday at halftime of Philadephia-New York on ESPN2

2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game: MLS vs. Bayern Munich

Fan voting for the 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game in Portland ended last week, and on Wednesday night, fans will get their first look at the team that will face Bayern Munich on Aug. 6.

The MLS Fan XI will be announced at halftime of ESPN2's broadcast (and the ESPN Deportes+ broadcast) of Wednesday's game between the Philadelphia Union and New York Red Bulls, which starts at 6:55 pm ET.

The Fan XI comes from 152 players nominated by media members. After the nomination process, fans voted for 11 players via online ballot or for individual players via Twitter. The 10 players who received the most votes at their respective positions (one goalkeeper, three defenders, four midfielders, two forwards) make up the Fan XI, along with the winner of the AT&T/EA Sports "More than a Vote" Challenge, in which fans were encouraged to score as many goals as possible with their favorite All-Star forward candidate, with one vote equalling one goal.

However, the Fan XI will not necessarily be the starting lineup against Bayern Munich. All-Star coach Caleb Porter will select the game-day roster for the All-Star Game from a pool of the Fan XI, the Commssioner's Picks and players that have received at least two votes from their fellow players. That roster will be revealed on July 19 during halftime of the ESPN2 broadcast of the Sporting Kansas City-LA Galaxy game.

From there, MLS players will determine the remainder of the 32 All-Stars named annually per the collective bargaining agreement, otherwise known as the "inactive roster." The final list of 32 All-Stars (4 goalkeepers, 8 defenders, 13 midfielders, 7 forwards) will be announced on MLSsoccer.com on Aug. 6.
