American Exports: Mix Diskerud comes off the bench in Rosenborg draw

Mix Diskerud, Rosenborg

AMSTERDAM – Mikkel Diskerud hopped off the bench as an early injury sub as Rosenborg settled for a 2-2 draw at Vålerenga.

The US midfielder replaced Jonas Svensson on 25 minutes, wasting little time to stir some action. Ten minutes later, Diskerud's sharp area cut on the ball granted the yard needed to force a low save from the home 'keeper.

Four minutes before the break, Diskerud won a corner kick that resulted in Tore Reginiussen nodding home the Rosenborg second. However, Vålerenga clawed back with a pair of strikes over the final 33 minutes to grab a share of the points.

Now unbeaten in six league games, Diskerud & Co. held firm in fourth place, nine points shy of leaders Molde FK through 14 rounds.

Elsewhere, Michael Stephens had a lukewarm outing as Stabæk's losing streak reached five games with a 2-0 defeat at FK Haugesund. Bob Bradley's boys continued their roller coaster ways, dipping to 10th place.
