All-Star: Fan voting for the 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game has ended, but what happens now?

2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game: MLS vs. Bayern Munich

Over a month of fan voting has finally wrapped up for the 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game in Portland, but the team that will face Bayern Munich isn't quite set.

Firstly, the winners of the fan vote will be announced at halftime of ESPN2's broadcast of the July 16 game between the Philadelphia Union and New York Red Bulls, which starts at 7 pm ET. One of the XI will be the winner of the AT&T/EA Sports "More than a Vote" Challenge, where fans were encouraged to score as many goals as possible with their favorite All-Star forward candidate, with one vote equalling one goal.

That group of players will not be the eleven that start against Bayern Munich, however – they are just the first eleven on the All-Star roster.

Following the reveal of the fan's XI, All-Star coach Caleb Porter will select the game day roster for the All-Star Game from a pool of the Fan XI, the Commssioner's Picks, and players that have received at least two votes from their fellow players. That roster will be revealed on either July 19 or 21.

From there, MLS players will determine the remainder of the 32 All-Stars named annually per the collective bargaining agreement, otherwise known as the "inactive roster." The final list of 32 All-Stars (4 goalkeepers, 8 defenders, 13 midfielders, 7 forwards) will be announced on MLSsoccer.com on August 6, the day of the game.
