Clint Dempsey is a popular man these days, and he's about to get a whole lot more national attention.
The US national team and Seattle Sounders forward will be a special guest on the Late Show with David Letterman on Wednesday (11:35 pm ET, CBS) to talk about the US team's run to the Round of 16, and hopefully he'll spit some bars from his new rap record.
Dempsey will not feature for the Sounders in the club's US Open Cup quarterfinal match against the Portland Timbers on Wednesday (10:30 pm ET, USsoccer.com), but Sounders head coach Sigi Schmid said last week that Dempsey will definitely return for Seattle’s next MLS match against Portland on July 13.
