Budweiser Golden Boot Update: New York's Bradley Wright-Phillips widens lead

New York Red Bulls' Tim Cahill congratulates Bradley Wright-Phillips on his goal vs. Houston Dynamo.

New York Red Bulls forward Bradley Wright-Phillips must like streaking. Not that kind of streaking. Goal-scoring streaks. The Englishman has not gone two games without a goal since failing to find the net on April 12 and April 16.

On Friday, he scored twice to help the Red Bulls to a 2-2 draw in Houston, following up on the goal he scored last weekend in a 2-2 home draw with Toronto FC.

The two goals on Friday were his 13th (WATCH) and 14th (WATCH) of the season. They extended his lead in the Budweiser Golden Boot race to three goals over Chivas USA's Erick "Cubo" Torres and Sporting KC's Dom Dwyer.

Torres has been in good form lately, scoring in three straight games. Two of those goals were matchwinners, including a stunning volley (WATCH) in a 1-0 win over Real Salt Lake and the lone goal (WATCH) in a 1-0 win over San Jose in midweek.

Dwyer has seen his early hot streak cool off somewhat. He has scored only once in his last four starts for SKC.
