World Cup: FIFA suspends, bans, fines Uruguay's Luis Suarez for biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini

Luis Suarez, Uruguay (June 24, 2014)

Luis Suarez has been kicked out of the 2014 World Cup for his biting of Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini on June 24.

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee on Thursday morning suspended the Uruguay striker for nine official national team matches and also banned him from any soccer-related activities for four months, including prohibiting him from entering any soccer stadium. The ban includes action with his club team, Liverpool, but it does not prevent a transfer.
