World Cup: Matt Besler exits USMNT match vs. Ghana at halftime with hamstring injury

USMNT's Matt Besler challenges Ghana's Asamoah Gyan

First it was Jozy Altidore, then Matt Besler.

The Sporting Kansas City center back exited the US national team's World Cup opener vs. Ghana at halftime with what ESPN reported is "hamstring tightness." Besler came up lame on a sliding challenge in the 41st minute in Natal and was visibly limited for the remainder of the half, walking gingerly on his right foot.

He was replaced by World Cup debutant John Anthony Brooks.

The USMNT had already lost Altidore in the 21st minute to a left hamstring strain.
