World Cup Daily (June 14): Bugs, bowling pins, an expert dancer and a very special flipbook

FIFA World Cup trophy

Here's the World Cup fun you missed on Saturday, June 14:

ANOTHER STAR BITES THE DUST: News came down on Saturday morning that legendary Italian 'keeper Gianluigi Buffon would miss the Italy-England showdown because of an ankle injury. Also, it was confirmed that Uruguay star Luis Suarez would not start against Costa Rica. And even with his team struggling in the attack, Suarez was not introduced as a sub.

NEW WORLD CUP STAR - JOEL CAMPBELL: Everyone is talking about the Costa Rica youngster who helped his country register the shock of the tournament to this point. And for one Dallas family, it was extra special to watch:

PICKING UP THE PIECES: Still trying to make sense of what happened to defending champs Spain in their 5-1 debacle against Holland? Well, SI.com's Liviu Bird explains with a lot of pretty pictures here.

THE FLYING DUTCHMAN: Many still can't get over the Robin Van Persie diving header that proved to be the turning point against Spain. And one person created a flipbook to memorialize it for posterity:

DANCING WITH THE STARS: Colombia came out gangbusters against Greece and they had to get the wiggles out after scoring their opening goal:

And in case you didn't know, that's right back Pablo Armero's go-to move:

SLOW STARTERS: Hard to believe what Opta dug up about the Greeks giving up early goals at World Cups:

BOWLING PINS AT A SOCCER GAME?: At least they looked like bowling pin costumes. Still, we're confused as to why anyone would wear them at a soccer match.

BEWARE -- OVER-EAGER CASUAL SOCCER FANS: You know someone who fits this description. Might want to do them a favor and send them this:

ITALY=PIZZA, RIGHT?: No, but that stereotype is about to get reinforced when you see this piece of art. But this saucy Andrea Pirlo was too good to ignore:

FALCAO MAKES IT TO BRAZIL: He didn't make it as part of the 23-man squad for Colombia, but he was part of what sounded like 30,000 Colombians in Belo Horizonte vs. Greece.
