Returning early from international duty paid off handsomely for Deshorn Brown – and the Colorado Rapids – in Week 13.
The Jamaican striker, recalled by his club following an injury crisis among the forward corps, scored twice in the Rapids' 3-0 win over the Houston Dynamo, and also snagged top honors in the Castrol Index Weekly Top 20.
The Top 5 was dominated by attackers this time around, with the Portland Timbers' Fanendo Adi (No. 2), Vancouver Whitecaps' Erik Hurtado (No. 3), and Seattle Sounders' Obafemi Martins (No. 5) also sitting atop the weekly rankings. The only outlier was D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid (No. 4), who helped his team to an important 1-0 win over Sporting Kansas City.
Interestingly, New England Revolution goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth stayed in the same position, No. 16, for the second week in a row.
