After a strong season with English Championship team Bolton Wanderers, defender Tim Ream looks set to stay with the club for several seasons to come.
According to a report from The Bolton News on Wednesday, Ream has agreed "in principle" to a new three-year deal with the club. The new contract would replace Ream's current deal, according to the report, which had one more year left on it.
The new contract appears to be a reward for Ream's season, where he was named Bolton's Player of the 2013-14 season by the club and supporters alike. And perhaps because of the good form, there have been rumors in recent months that English Premier League side West Bromwich Albion have been interested in picking up the former New York Red Bulls player.
Ream, 26, was transferred to Bolton from the Red Bulls in January 2012. Joining USMNT teammate Stuart Holden at the club, which was then in the English Premier League, Bolton was relegated at the end of that season. Ream was a squad player his first two seasons there, before emerging as a regular starter this past season under coach Dougie Freedman, with Bolton finishing 14th in the league table.
