Ian Darke would say, “You couldn't write a script like this!” Cut by Jurgen Klinsmann from the United States men’s national team roster just days ago, Landon Donovan returned to LA and Major League Soccer to face the Philadelphia Union Sunday night.


It seemed like destiny that Donovan, goalless so far this season, would find the back of the net and become Major League Soccer’s all-time leading scorer.



He did. He tallied twice and picked up an assist as he led his Galaxy to a 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Union.
