Bradley Wright-Phillips earned a penalty kick midway through the first half of the New York Red Bulls' home match against the Portland Timbers, and the Englishman powered home the resulting spotkick for his 10th goal of the season.
That puts Wright-Phillips even with Sporting KC's Dom Dwyer, who scored twice in Friday night's draw with Toronto FC, for the lead in the Budweiser Golden Boot race.
