Chivas Guadalajara to face MLS All-Star foes Bayern Munich as part of 4-stop US summer tour

NEW YORK – Club Deportivo Guadalajara, one of the most historic soccer clubs in Mexico affectionately known as Chivas, in conjunction with Soccer United Marketing (SUM), on Thursday announced its US summer tour dates across cities in the United States and against some of best from top soccer nations – Brazil, England and Germany.


In its ninth annual US tour, the Rebaño Sagrado will first take on Brazilian powerhouse Cruzeiro Esporte Clube at the Sun Bowl Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) on Sunday, July 6, presented by Pepsi. Three days later, the club will travel to Southern California to face current CONCACAF Champions League champions and fellow Liga MX club Cruz Azul at StubHub Center in Carson on July 9, presented by Boost Mobile. 


The tour will then move to Miller Park in Milwaukee. On July 16, Miller Park will host its first-ever soccer game when Guadalajara will face English Premier League club Swansea City AFC in a match presented by Miller Lite.



Chivas will close the tour against reining European and German Bundesliga champion, FC Bayern Munich, as part of the Audi Football Summit. The marquee match will take place at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J., on July 31. FC Bayern Munich will head to Portland following the New York-area match to take on the MLS’ best in the 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game at Providence Park on August 6.


Tickets will go on sale for all Chivas tour matches on Thursday, May 22, at 10 am local time. More information for each match can be found below.
