American Exports: Mix Diskerud bags winning assist for Rosenborg

Mix Diskerud, Rosenborg

US national team midfielder and World Cup hopeful Mikkel Diskerud notched an easy assist on the winning goal Sunday as Rosenborg turned it on late to down visiting Brann 5-2.

With the game knotted just past the hour, Dikserud (above) fed Mike Jensen, who rambled forward to bury a long range drive for the RBK third. Still unbeaten through five rounds, the Troll Kids stand four points off the top in fourth place.

Also, Michael Stephens pitched in with a very active full shift as Bob Bradley's Stabæk got back on track with a 3-2 home win over Bodø/Glimt. Snapping a two-game slide, the Blue Ones pulled level on points with Rosenborg in fifth place.

Finally, Sacha Kljestan went unused as Anderlecht knocked arch rivals Standard Liège off the summit with a 2-1 rally victory at the Constant Vanden Stock. The defending champs, who allowed their first goal at home in 790 minutes to fall behind in the first half, clawed back late to cut their title deficit to three points on new leaders and round seven hosts Club Brugge.
