NEW YORK, NY (April 2, 2014) – Sueño MLS 2014 – Presented by Allstate wants to know, “What does your soccer dream look like?” The answer could win MLS fans a number of great prizes, including autographed jerseys.
The premier nationally-televised search for the best undiscovered soccer talent in North America today launched a social media sweepstakes called #MYSOCCERDREAM. Sueño MLS 2014 – Presented by Allstate is asking soccer fans and participants of the program to snap a picture that depicts their soccer dream and post it on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #MYSOCCERDREAM.
After each of the three Sueño MLS local tryouts, one fan will be randomly selected to win a signed MLS team jersey. Following the Sueño MLS National Final, one fan will be randomly selected to win a soccer ball signed by the MLS All-Star Team and a $250 gift card to MLSGear.com. There are four (4) chances to win. Now in its eighth year, Sueño MLS 2014 – Presented by Allstate is being staged by three Major League Soccer teams, including first-time host New York Red Bulls, as well as returning hosts Colorado Rapids and LA Galaxy. Up to 500 tryout spots will be made available in each city on a first come, first serve basis. Registration opened on March 30, with hundreds of players already signed up to participate. Spots continue to be available at www.suenomls.com. A waiting list will be available once all the spots have been filled. The competition is chronicled in a unique “reality show within a show” format by Univision Network’s popular weekly sports entertainment program, República Deportiva (Sports Republic) which airs every Sunday.
In each city, field players will be battling for one of five invitations to a week-long trial with their respective youth development host club and a trip to the exciting five-day National Finals in the greater Los Angeles area that will be hosted by Sueño MLS Ambassador and Colombian soccer great, Carlos “El Pibe” Valderrama. The Sueño MLS 2014 – Presented by Allstate winner will be crowned on Sunday, May 18, live on República Deportiva (see calendar below for more information).
In addition, the Allstate “Good Hands®” top goalkeeper award - El Portero Allstate - will be presented for the fourth consecutive year. One goalkeeper at each of the three local tryouts will be selected as a local goalkeeper finalist and will compete in the National Finals for the opportunity to be named El Portero Allstate. El Portero Allstate will be selected in conjunction with the winner of Sueño MLS 2014 – Presented by Allstate, and will be mentored by Mexican goalkeeping legend Martin “El Pulpo” Zuñiga.
Both winners will be invited to join a youth-level team at the MLS club represented at the National Final.
