American Exports: Julian Green set to miss several weeks with shoulder injury suffered with USMNT

AMSTERDAM – Bayern Munich II attack ace Julian Green will be forced to sit on the shelf for a few weeks after a Monday exam on his left shoulder showed that the teenager partially dislocated his left shoulder during last week's US national team debut.

The Tampa native fell awkwardly on his shoulder with 10 minutes left in last Wednesday's 2-2 friendly draw with Mexico, but carried on until the end.

However, he missed a Bayern II league victory on Sunday and now the club have corroborated a weekend Twitter statement from Green's father Jerry that stated the newest US international would miss a few weeks of action in recovery.

"Julian has a shoulder dislocation," Bayern press officer Markus Hörwick told MLSsoccer.com. "He is doing a little rehab, but mostly he will need to rest for about three weeks."

Playing both up top and as a winger, Green has hit for 15 goals and added eight assists for Bayern II, who stand four points clear at the top of their fourth-division table with seven rounds to play. If Green's return matches the prognosis, he should be back in the fold by the time the junior Bavarians visit second-place Illertissen on May 3.
