American Exports: Bolton defender Tim Ream's agent downplays talk of West Brom transfer

Tim Ream with Bolton

AMSTERDAM – The agent for Bolton defender Tim Ream has cooled talk of an impending transfer offer from Premier League side West Bromwich Albion, as reported by UK tabloid site ClubCall.com on Tuesday.

The outlet claims that representatives from the Baggies front office will be in attendance when Bolton visit Doncaster in league play on Tuesday.

Though Ream's agent did not completely dismiss the report, it was all news to him.

"I'm not aware of any potential bid from West Brom or scouts watching him tonight, but this is quite normal," Ream's rep, Patrick McCabe, told MLSsoccer.com. "Tim is quite settled at Bolton and really likes playing for [manager] Dougie Freedman. He is focused on playing weekly and finishing the season in good form."

Splitting time between left and center back, Ream has been among Bolton's standouts while working 36 Championship contests this season. Before joining Wanderers in the summer of 2011, the St. Louis native did have a training spell at West Brom.
