Chivas USA goalkeeper Dan Kennedy claims Save of the Week award with superb stop on Dax McCarty

Chivas USA were on the brink of leaving New York with a victory last weekend, and that was due in large part to the performance of Dan Kennedy.

Kennedy enjoyed another stellar day in between the pipes for the Goats in their 1-1 draw with the Red Bulls last Sunday, making a number of key blocks to keep his club in front until they surrendered a goal in second-half stoppage time. One of those saves came in spectacular fashion, as Kennedy pawed away a deadly Dax McCarty volley late in the match.

That block from the veteran goalkeeper caused McCarty to issue a tongue-in-cheek tweet about Kennedy after the game, and also claimed the Save of the Week award for Week 4. Kennedy was the easy winner, earning more than 60 percent of the vote.

Final Votes - Week 4:

1. Dan Kennedy (CHV): 60.02%
2. Andrew Weber (POR): 21.27%
3. Steve Clark (CLB): 8.65%
4. Stefan Frei (SEA): 6.39%
5. Sean Johnson (CHI): 3.66%
