US Soccer clearly must have asked for expedited shipping.
USSF president Sunil Gulati tweeted on Monday morning that German-American Julian Green has had his onetime international allegiance switch approved by FIFA, the news later corroborated by a press release from US Soccer.
The news comes less than a week after it was announced that the Bayern Munich teenager, who was born in Tampa, Fla., planned to tie himself to the US national team after representing Germany in an official youth competition.
With Green now eligible to play for the US, the 18-year-old winger could make his debut as soon as in the April 2 friendly against Mexico in Glendale, Ariz. Green has been permitted to join the American camp ahead of the match that does not fall on an international fixture date, and will be looking to earn some playing time in an attempt to impress and bolster his chances of making the World Cup squad that will head to Brazil this summer.
