AMSTERDAM – Stoke City right back Geoff Cameron made up for an early error by scoring the 4-1 capper in a road win over Brad Guzan's Aston Villa on Sunday.

With unused sub Brek Shea watching from the Potters' dugout, Cameron lost set-up man Fabian Delph on Christian Benteke's fifth-minute icebreaker and had a couple of other rough patches over the opening half-hour.

The former Houston Dynamo man rallied to put on a strong two-way display, punctuated when he followed a last-minute Stoke breakout to bury Marko Arnautovic's cutback for his second goal of the season.

Guzan, meanwhile, managed just one save and one cross capture as his defense repeatedly buckled. The result saw Stoke jump ahead of Villa for 10th place, thanks to their first EPL road victory in 14 games.

Elsewhere, Brad Friedel remained a spectator as Tottenham clawed back for a 3-2 home win over Southampton.

Turning to the Bundesliga, Fabian Johnson set up the late Hoffenheim winner as the visitors pulled off a 3-2 triumph at Bayer Leverkusen.

Near the very end of an impressive all-around showing at right back, Johnson picked out Anthony Modeste for the 89th-minute decider. With their first road win in league play since December 7, 10th-place Hoffenheim moved to within nine points of a Europa League slot.

In Turkey, Jermaine Jones worked a positive 37-minute shift as Besiktas grabbed hold of the Süper Lig's lone Champions League group-phase pass with a 3-0 home win over Akhisar Belediyespor. The midfielder nearly piled on further with a few minutes remaining, only to have his drive cleared off the line.

The Black Eagles, who are undefeated in 10 with four straight shutouts at home, moved a point ahead of beaten rivals Galatasaray for second place with eight rounds remaining. If the table ended up as it currently stands, the runner-up position would claim the better of Turkey's two Champions League invites due to a European ban for leaders Fenerbahçe.
