How to monitor injuries, plus five players who may be sitting this weekend | MLS Fantasy Advice

Every good manager should know how to navigate through all of the designated research tools within MLS Fantasy. If you don't, here are some things worth taking a closer look at.

Don't forget to check out MLSsoccer.com's injury report as well.

The "i" button

Every player has a "i" button located next to their name. This button is blue, orange or red.

  • Blue - healthy; no news
  • Orange - questionable, doubtful; injury news attached
  • Red - suspended, injured; specific details attached

This year, we'll be incorporating more detailed information in the player news section as seen below in Michael Parkhurst's player card.

By clicking the "i" button, you will also be able to access the player's history in both standard scoring and bonus points, as well as their upcoming schedule. This is the best way to stay on top of the players within your team and on certain players you're thinking about bringing in.

Select the "Add to watchlist" button to track the players you like.

Injury Report

There will be several injured players missing out on action this weekend. Here are few you should keep your eye on...

  • Chad Marshall - Undisclosed preseason injury that's been lingering. He's questionable for Saturday at Montreal and Jalil Anibaba would likely fill in if he can't go.
  • Javier Morales - Didn't travel with the team last weekend because of a back injury, but has been upgraded to probable for Saturday's game vs. LA at home. Have a backup plan in place just in case he isn't ready to go.
  • Michael Parkhurst - Slightly limited in practice on Tuesday with a calf injury, but did participate fully later on in the week. Should start despite being listed as questionable.
  • Mike Magee - The reigning MLS MVP is ready to get back to work. When asked if he was 100 percent or close to it: “Yeah, and if I wasn’t I’d probably lie to you. I’m confident, and in this league there’s no chance for excuses, but I’m good to go.” (More on Magee injury).
  • Brad Evans - Left last week's game against Toronto FC 28 minutes into the match with a calf injury. He has not been limited in practice, but did travel with the team this weekend. Lamar Neagle, Gonzalo Pineda and Kenny Cooper could all be in the starting lineup come kickoff on Saturday.
