AT&T MLS Goal of the Week update: Vancouver Whitecaps' Sebastian Fernandez well out in front

The Vancouver Whitecaps seized the spotlight in Week 1 with their 4-1 romp over the New York Red Bulls, and it's looking like newcomer Sebastián Fernández will take home a door prize to boot. 


2014 AT&T Goal of the Week: Week 1

With 37.76 percent of the vote, the Uruguayan's long-range golazo is comfortably ahead in the race for the season's first AT&T MLS Goal of the Week award, with FC Dallas schemer Mauro Díaz running a distant second with 19.21 percent  for his gorgeous free-kick strike. 


The Houston Dynamo's crafty Honduran Boniek García occupies third place with 18.54 percent, followed by Chicago Fire striker Quincy Amarikwa with 16.02 percent. Bringing up the rear is Fernández's teammate Pedro Morales at 8.48 percent.

The winner is determined by the total number of votes cast online and will be announced on Friday.
