With the arrival of expansion side New York City FC just months away, the New York Red Bulls took another subtle step on Tuesday to lay claim to the Big Apple.
The club unveiled its updated navy blue away kit at the RBNY media day event at Stage 48 in New York City and it stands out for the prominent "New York" on both the front (jock tag) and in large font on the back. Last year's away kit only included the words "Red Bulls" on on the back.
The other subtle changes were made to the collar and the three stripes running down the shoulders and arm which have switched from white to yellow.

Every MLS team is unveiling new jerseys as part of 2014 Jersey Week, which is being held from March 3-7 in the lead-up to the start of the new season on Saturday, March 8.
