American Exports: Juan Agudelo breaks through with first goal for FC Utrecht

Juan Agudelo in action for FC Utrecht

It hasn't taken Juan Agudelo long to settle into his new digs with Eredivisie side FC Utrecht.

The US international striker, on loan from Stoke City, celebrated his first league start this past weekend by picking up his first league assist -- against mighty Ajax, no less. On Thursday he upped the ante, notching his first league goal to give his side a 1-0 lead on PEC Zwolle.

However, after falling to 10 men with a harsh red card to Adam Sarota near the hour, Utrecht would eventually concede twice in a four-minute span to fall 2-1. Agudelo came close to tying the game with 10 minutes left, sliding mere inches shy of a low Tommy Oar cross.

Agudelo's goal, which came in the 24th minute, can be seen below:

And yes, that's "La Cucaracha," a traditional Mexican folk song, blaring on the Stadion Galganwaard loudspeakers to celebrate the event. Because Americans aren't the only ones who are terrible at geography.

Now winless in five league games, Agudelo & Co. slipped a rung to 12th place.
