AMSTERDAM – Geoff Cameron and Stoke City dropped out of the FA Cup despite a valiant effort in a 1-0 defeat at Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
The US international worked his usual station of right back, keeping most busy in defense. Cameron went into the refs book in the 27th minute for a rough challenge on Blues ace Eden Hazard that compelled the Belgian to switch to the opposite flank. The former Houston Dynamo ace did, however, also execute four clean tackles on the day.
Stoke have now lost three straight and six of their last 10 across all competitions.
Meanwhile, in Belgium, Sacha Kljestan watched from the home dugout as Anderlecht stayed within seven points of the Jupiler League penthouse with a 2-0 derby defeat of Club Brugge.
