AMSTERDAM – Kaiserslautern attacker Andrew Wooten will spend the rest of the season on loan to 2.Bundesliga survivalists FSV Frankfurt.
The 24-year-old has appeared in just five matches for the Red Devils on the campaign, forcing him to look elsewhere for playing time. Last season, Wooten notched seven goals and three assists in 28 second-flight loan outings with Sandhausen.
"In terms of the development of the team, as well as for my personal progress, I see a good perspective for FSV Frankfurt," Wooten told the club's website following his presentation on Tuesday. "I would like to make my contribution to the sporting success of the FSV in the second half of the season."
Wooten is now in line to become the fourth American to suit up for the club, after Kenneth Kronholm, Matthew Taylor and Seattle Sounders technical director Chris Henderson.
With their league return from the winter break set for a February 7 trip to face VfL Bochum, FSV stand 13th and above the drop zone only on goal differential.
