American Exports: Eric Lichaj injury deemed minor by Nottingham Forest

Eric Lichaj

AMSTERDAM – Nottingham Forest defender Eric Lichaj is not expected to miss any time after leaving early from their 5-0 FA Cup rout of West Ham United this past weekend.

The US international was pulled showing a slight limp in the 58th minute of their third-round victory. The club did not specify the exact location of his lower-body knock, but stated he should recover from it quickly.

"It was nothing serious," Forest press officer Ben White told MLSsoccer.com. "He came off as a precaution."

A summer arrival from Aston Villa, Lichaj has appeared in 22 Championship contests this season, most of them at right back. The Chicago-area native has continued drawing positive reviews since switching over to the left side of defense three games ago.

Nottingham Forest currently stand fifth in the league table, seven points shy of an automatic promotion slot. They hit the road Saturday to tackle Tim Ream's Bolton, with their fourth-round FA Cup tie set for a home tilt against either Ipswich Town or Preston North End on January 25.
