GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Joe Corona and Herculez Gomez got their preseason with Club Tijuana off to a perfect start by netting a goal apiece in a 2-0 friendly win on Wednesday against sister club Dorados de Sinaloa.
Corona started the game – as did Edgar Castillo – and scored in the 13th minute in the second friendly of the preseason under new coach César Farías.
Gomez’s goal came from the penalty spot in the 24th minute of the second period, shortly after he’d come off the bench.
Alejandro Guido entered the field for the second period, while Greg Garza and Stevie Rodriguez came on for the third.
The next friendly for Xolos is also against Dorados on December 21 in Estadio Banorte, with the Tijuana side then heading to Los Angeles and the StubHub Center on December 28 to take on Club América.
Xolos kick off the Liga MX Clausura 2014 away at Atlas on January 4.
