American Exports: The DaMarcus Beasley Puebla-to-Queretaro-negotiation saga continues

DaMarcus Beasley with Puebla

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – DaMarcus Beasley’s move to Querétaro from Puebla was made official by Gallos Blancos last week, but reports have surfaced to suggest it could now be definitively off.

“A last minute change led to the negotiations collapsing,” read a story on ESPN on Tuesday, with various journalists from both Puebla and Querétaro reporting via social media that the deal had been canceled.

Just hours earlier on Tuesday, Querétaro coach Ignacio Ambríz stated in a press conference that he expected 31-year-old Beasley to arrive at the club in the next few days, but a press statement from Gallos Blancos on Monday announcing the arrival of incoming players at training notably omitted the American’s name.

The confusion over the US international left back’s future won’t continue for much longer, with the Liga MX’s registration for domestic transfers closing on Wednesday.
