Earlier this year, D.C. United got its own beer.
The club's fans were asked to nominate names for the DC Brau Brewing Company, LLC, brew, and ultimately the decision was down to a panel of United players.
The settled on "The Tradition," which was only fitting for a club who has won four of its league's 18 MLS Cup trophies — tied for most in league history (LA Galaxy).
Since June, the 5.0-percent alcohol by volume golden ale has only been available on draught at select drinking establishments around the D.C. area.
But now, The Tradition is making its way to every beer drinker's favorite mobile container — the can. And better yet, soccer fans are the ones that will decide what the aluminum container of goodness looks like. They're the ones who'll be drinking it at tailgates and games, after all.
Voting is now open and runs through this Friday, December 20. The three can design options are as follows:
