Vancouver Whitecaps schedule Monday press conference to announce new head coach

The Vancouver Whitecaps have apparently settled on their next head coach.

The club, which parted ways with Martin Rennie in October, has scheduled a press conference for Monday at 1:30 pm ET/10:30 am PT "to introduce the 15th head coach in club history."

The event will be streamed live on WhitecapsFC.com.

No names are confirmed, but on Sunday evening, in-the-know Whitecaps observers claimed that the club will announce Carl Robinson, the former Welsh international who was an assistant under Rennie, as the new man in charge.

Robinson was reportedly one of five finalists for the job. The 'Caps, according to reports in The Province, also talked with former USMNT manager Bob Bradley, former Montreal Impact coach Jesse Marsch, fromer Toronto FC coach Preki and US U-17 national team coach Richie Williams.
