AMSTERDAM – Daniel Williams excelled in his first Reading start since mid-September, eventually taking part in the 3-2 winner away to Eric Lichaj's Nottingham Forest on Friday.

Williams enjoyed a solid all-around central park outing, making four tackles without a whistle while winning five free kicks for the Royals. The US international's clever dummy freed Jordan Obita to strike the 74th-minute decider.

Lichaj fared decently for most of the night, but was among the culpable defenders on Reading's early opener. The right back was nearly able to block Obita's game-winning shot, but could only give it a slight deflection on the way to goal.

The result tentatively lifted the visitors up to fourth place, while Forest left themselves vulnerable to three weekend competitors in sixth.
