USMNT: Landon Donovan reportedly omitted from Jurgen Klinsmann's squad for pair of friendlies

Jurgen Klinsmann has said he'll spare no available player for the US national team's friendlies over the upcoming international break at Scotland and Austria, but if a Sunday report from SI.com is to be believed, Landon Donovan will not be one of those players.

Citing sources from the LA Galaxy, SI.com's Grant Wahl says the all-time leading scorer in USMNT history will not be among the roster announced on Monday by Klinsmann for the upcoming friendlies.

Donovan has been battling a nagging ankle injury that prompted Klinsmann to omit him from the US' final World Cup qualifier at Panama last month.

His LA teammate Omar Gonzalez, however, will be called up, according to the SI.com report. The Galaxy were eliminated from the MLS Cup Playoffs last week by Real Salt Lake.

U.S. Soccer and the LA Galaxy both declined to comment on the report when contacted Sunday by MLSsoccer.com.

The USMNT faces Scotland at Glasgow's Hampden Park on Friday, then meets Austria at Vienna's Ernst-Happel-Stadion on Nov. 19.
