Leaving striker Claudio Bieler alone, as the only non-midfielder in the group. and editors selected 32 Latino players that made an impact throughout the 2013 MLS regular season, including winners of’s weekly contest, Latino de la Jornada, and a draw was held to divide the players in eight groups of four players each.

Here are the nominees from Group F:

Osvaldo Alonso,
M, Seattle

The Cuban known as the "Honey Batcher," a constant predator of the rival attackers, has an invaluable price in the Sounders midfield: He not only recovers the ball constantly and pressures opponents into mistakes, but he is able to maintain the midfield and the defense in order with his leadership.

Claudio Bieler,
F, Sporting KC

Signed as a Designated Player by Sporting, he came into the club and made an immediate impact doing what he does best, scoring goals. "Taca" became SKC's top goalscorer in 2013, scoring 10, and also set up another four for his teammates to score. He's quickly becoming a fan favorite in the Blue Hell.

M/D, FC Dallas

Came almost as a complete unknown to MLS during the beginning of the year, but by the summer everyone was wondering where this Brazilian midfielder had come from. Michel became a sensation not only for his defensive effectiveness, he was also one of the best, if not the best, goal-setter player during the season when it came to set pieces. Recorded eight assists, most of them coming from free kicks, and even scored an Olympic goal.

Hendry Thomas,
M, Colorado

The Honduran is a key player in Oscar Pareja's tactical scheme. Thomas is the equilibrium of the explosive and dynamic attack and one of the top defenses in the league. A midfielder who plays easy balls, which in soccer is sometimes hard to find, and who even has the guts to take classy PKs once in a while, has become one of the most respected players in Colorado; they don’t call him "El Patrón" for nothing.
