US national team and Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard's playing days are long from over, even at the age of 34.
The New Jersey-born shot stopper is slated to mind the net for Jurgen Klinsmann's side at next summer's World Cup in Brazil before likely passing the national team torch on to Brad Guzan.
While Howard might have as many five years left of playing at the highest level, that doesn't mean he shouldn't be looking with one eye towards the future and scheming up ideas for his post-playing career days. According to a report by SI.com's Richard Deitsch, that's exactly what he's doing.
Howard's agent Richard Motzkin seemed to confirm the report a bit later on Sunday night through his Twitter account.
Just 24 hours after Howard's Everton take on Guzan's Aston Villa at Villa Park, Howard will hustle himself down to London to make his broadcasting debut on NBCSN alongside former Seattle Sounders and MLS commentator Arlo White.
"It is the first time we will have an active player in our announce booth," NBC Sports Group coordinating producer Pierre Moossa said.
And a move that will surely entice a few more American soccer fans to tune in to NBCSN's broadcast of the already important game (Chelsea are currently second and Man. City are fourth in the Premier League) than might have done so otherwise.
Seeing Howard inside the broadcaster's booth, fully bearded while wearing a suit, will make the experiment worth it all on its own.
