Castrol Index Weekly Top 20: Houston Dynamo Giles Barnes nets two in blowout win, tops rankings

When you come away from a match with a 5-1 victory – as the Houston Dynamo did Saturday night vs. Chivas USA – you're bound to clutter the Castrol Index weekly Top 20.

In this week's Top 20, Giles Barnes came in atop the rankings thanks to his two-goal performance against the last-place team in the West. Barnes' teammates Will Bruin (1 goal, 1 assist) and Boniek Garcia (2 goals) came in at No. 9 and No. 14 with 1,069 and 963 points, respectively.

Barnes' outing notched him 1,683 points, 243 points more than Sporting Kansas City's C.J. Sapong, who finished with 1,440 points via his brace in Sporting's 2-1 win over Toronto FC.

Last week's top performer Chad Marshall was again near the top this week. His performance in the Columbus Crew's 3-0 win vs. the Chicago Fire earned him the No. 5 spot with 1,218 points. Marshall's teammate Bernardo Añor was one spot ahead of him with 1,226 points. Añor scored the Crew's third goal in the win. Crew 'keeper Matt Lampson was also in the top 10 at No. 7. His clean sheet earned him 1,136 points.
