Ching, 35, made a name for himself with the San Jose Earthquakes, winning an MLS Cup with the original version of the Quakes in 2003. After the Quakes relocated to Houston, Ching was part of back-to-back MLS Cup championships by the Dynamo in 2006 and 2007.
As of Monday, Ching has totaled 82 goals — 56 with the Dynamo, 25 with the Earthquakes, and one in his lone season with the LA Galaxy in 2001. He is goalless over 14 substitute appearances for the Dynamo in 2013, but has picked up an assist.
In addition to his MLS career, Ching also enjoyed success with the US national team, scoring 11 goals in 45 caps and participating in the 2006 World Cup and two Gold Cups.
The Dynamo confirmed to MLSsoccer.com that they and Ching would be making an announcement Tuesday, but would not comment on the specifics of that announcement.
