American Exports: Jose Torres & Tigres UANL host DaMarcus Beasley's Puebla in crunch match

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – In a crunch clash on Saturday in the Liga MX, Jose Torres’ Tigres UANL side host DaMarcus Beasley and Michael Orozco Fiscal’s Puebla team at Estadio Universitario (UniMas, 8 pm ET).


Tigres are currently 11th, only one point above 12th-place Puebla, although the Monterrey-based team has one game in hand. All three Americans are set to start the game, with both teams looking to stay in the playoff race with games running out in the Apertura championship regular season.



Club Tijuana and their Yanks are in action on Friday against Cruz Azul in the border town, with Edgar Castillo recovered from the knock he took last weekend against Chivas (ESPN Deportes, Azteca America, 10:30 pm ET).


Greg Garza, Paul Arriola and Joe Corona could all also feature as Xolos – level on points with Tigres – continue their playoff push.


Also on Friday, Monterrey’s Alonso Hernandez will be hoping to follow up his positive performance in the Copa MX midweek with some minutes at Estadio Morelos against league leaders Morelia (ESPN Deportes, Azteca America, 8:30 pm ET).


In Mexico’s Ascenso MX, Marco Vidal, Sammy Ochoa and Lobos BUAP host Ballenas Galeana on Friday (7 pm ET), while Sonny Guadarrama’s Necaxa entertain Cruz Azul Hidalgo (Friday, 9 pm ET). On Saturday, Jesus Padilla’s Dorados de Sinaloa travel to Zacatepec (8 pm ET).



In Brazil, Freddy Adu’s Bahia are without a win in five league games, although the American hasn’t featured in the Brasileirão in a month. Bahia are at Botafogo on Sunday (3 pm ET). 


In Costa Rica, FC Dallas loanee Moises Hernandez has also been struggling for minutes recently and will be hoping his luck turns when his Saprissa team locks horns with Alajuelense on Sunday in the Central American country’s biggest rivalry (1 pm ET).
