American Exports: Hertha Berlin, John Anthony Brooks drop another in Bundesliga

John Anthony Brooks celebrates his goal for Hertha Berlin

AMSTERDAM – A trio of Americans suited up across the Atlantic on Friday night, with John Anthony Brooks and Hertha Berlin slipping to a 1-0 defeat to guests Stuttgart.

The US international had three second-half shots at tying the game with a restart header, but only managed to draw a save with one of them. The loss, Hertha's second in a row, could see the risers drop down from sixth place over the weekend.

One flight down in the 2.Bundesliga, Bobby Wood went unused as 1860 Munich settled for a 0-0 draw at Aalen.

Next door in the Dutch second flight, Charles Kazlauskas went the distance at right back as warming Helmond Sport hit twice in the final eight minutes to pull out a 2-1 home victory over league leaders Dordrecht. The Milwaukee native saw yellow shortly before Davy Brouwer's stoppage-time spot kick gave the eighth-place hosts their third win in four games.
