Where would the Colorado Rapids be without Clint Irwin?
The young 'keeper, who stepped in for the injured Matt Pickens early in the season and hasn't come close to letting go of the starting job since, put in perhaps his best performance of the season in this past weekend's 1-0 whitewashing of the LA Galaxy in Carson, Calif., and for his efforts earned the top spot in this week's Castrol Top 20.
Irwin's biggest save was one of his first on the night, when he got to the near post early and stoned Jack McBean, who also clocked into the top 20 for his efforts.
Fellow goalkeepers Michael Gspurning and Jon Busch rounded out the top three, hinting at a fight to the finish in the Western Conference. Last week's No. 1, Erick Torres, finished sixth this week on the strength of yet another goal, his seventh in nine games.
