First win in Mexico? Check. First victory in Italy? Roger. Record winning streak? That, too. Regardless of the opponent or venue, this US team simply has the belief that it can accomplish anything, past results be damned. History is about to be made in Costa Rica.

Sorry my Pura Vida people, but no revenge will be taken. The US have become a solid team and so powerful in attack that they'll tear up that weak Costa Rican defense. Los Ticos have also struggled finding the opposite net in recent games, which will make it even more difficult for them.

It's tempting to pick the US given the 12-game winning streak, but this is still Costa Rica. They're disciplined, they're tough, they're opportunistic. And – Saprissa or not – they're home.

Andrew Wiebe

With Jozy Altidore's status up in the air, the Americans lack the physically dominant assassin who would occupy the Costa Rican center backs. Either way, the Ticos will make it a battle and a loss at home would be unacceptable for the hosts, who go ahead early and weather a late US barrage.

By definition, it will be a tough game on the road, but the US have a strong team and lot of momentum that could be too much for the Ticos without their usual home-field advantage. I expect Costa Rica to bunker and counter, but the US have too much attacking talent for that to work for 90 minutes.

Diego Pinzon

The USMNT will face a tough test, specially since the Ticos want revenge! Even though Lula, the horn-blowing cow, won't be at the stadium, noise will be very loud at Estadio Nacional, but it does not breathe as the Saprissa does. The US players want to move forward with the winning streak and try to stretch the record to 13 wins.

Costa Rica may be second in the Hex for now, but they're not an impressive side. Technical, yes. But the defenders are average and they have no gamebreakes up top. US counter will run rampant.

Nick Rosano

The USMNT has been making history under Jurgen Klinsmann, so why not another first? The team is playing as well as it ever has and Costa Rica are not as strong in this qualifying cycle as they have been in the past. They'll trouble the US, but Klinsmann's team will edge it out to all but secure their place in Brazil.
