Chicago Fire third kit design contest

Way back in mid-July we passed along word of the Chicago Fire's third kit design contest that will allow one fan's dream kit design to become a reality at the start of the 2014 season. We said we would update when the five finalists were chosen.

The five finalists were announed by the Fire last week, and there are a couple of absolutely gorgeous designs among them. Check out Chicago-Fire.com to see the five full-size submissions duking it out in the fan vote, which runs until 11:59 pm CT this Friday night.

Personally, Option No. 5 — submitted by Jordan Parks — is a stunning, white jersey design with the pixelated Chicago skyline in the essence of a decibel meter. That is the kind of design that screams, "Third kit," in my opinion.

Old school Fire fans are bound to love Option No. 4, though — submitted by Eric Puente — which is a clear, but very modernized, throwback to the Fire's 2005 third kit featuring the four red stars of the official flag of Chicago.

What do you think? If having a vote on the Fire's website, which kit are you most likely to choose?
