This week in
MLS Fantasy Soccer: Manager
we saw a huge decrease in scoring overall. Even the average score dropped by 10 points, to 46. The high score in Round 28 was just 99 points.

Last week we saw a total of 37 goals, but this week offensive production took a huge hit. Usually defensive production would go up in this case, but we saw a drop there as well. Only four teams recorded clean sheets and only four players managed to hit the double-digit mark.

Seven teams were represented on this week’s Dream Team, with LA leading the way with three selections.

Here's the breakdown on the rest of the DT for Round 28...

Dream Team formation: (3-4-3)

Top Player: Robbie Keane – 15 points

Defenders (3)

Usually we see some offensive production from defenders, but this week it was very minimal. Only three defenders tallied nine points in Round 28 and each of them landed a spot on this week’s Dream Team.

OmarGonzalez and SeanFranklin helped the LA Galaxy record a shutout against the San Jose Earthquakes and JhonKennedyHurtado did the same for the Seattle Sounders. The Sounders beat a struggling Columbus Crew team who just saw Robert Warzycha get relieved of his duties as head coach.

Midfielders (4)

JavierMorales was the only midfielder to surpass the double-digit mark this week and his 12-point performance was tied for second-best overall.

Four other midfielders tallied nine points in Round 28, but only three players made the cut: LloydSam, GershonKoffie and AdamMoffat. Sam’s teammate, Australian international TimCahill, was left off due to limited availability.

Forwards (3)

Three of the top four players in MLS Fantasy Round 28 were forwards. Chivas USA’s ErickTorres and Real Salt Lake’s JoaoPlata each had impressive 12-point outings whileLA Galaxy hero Robbie Keane led all players with 15 points.

Keane is owned by more than 22 percent of owners at this point, but that number should drop with him leaving for international duty this week.

Goalkeeper – Michael Gspurning (9 points)

LuisRobles stopped a penalty kick from Dwayne De Rosario, but it wasn’t enough to overtake the top spot from Seattle’s MichaelGspurning.

Congratulations to Olivia Costey (COSTEY FC) who finished Round 28 with 99 points. Costey had five players from this week’s DT in his Starting XI: Robbie Keane, Joao Plata, Omar Gonzalez, Michael Gspurning and Sean Franklin. Her Captain was Joao Plata!

*Dream Team subject to change. All point totals are finalized Wednesday for Rounds ending on Sunday
