Sounders ask fans to show them their "Deuce Face," Timbers fans hijack contest with a twist | SIDELINE

Clint Dempsey holds up DeuceFace

Win a Clint Dempsey signed Seattle Sounders jersey and two tickets to the American star's home debut this Sunday against the Portland Timbers — a game which will push the limits of Major League Soccer's all-time standalone single-game attendance record.

"That sounds like a pretty sweet deal, but what do I have to do in order to win?" you might be asking yourself.

Simple: just show the Seattle Sounders your best "Deuce Face." (And also have a flight on standby with 24 hours notice to get to Seattle, if you're an out-of-towner.)

For those still unfamiliar with the Deuce Face: It's the expression Dempsey used when confronting Jamaican players after a hard foul during the US national team's win over the Reggae Boyz in a September 2012 World Cup qualifier.

If you're brave enough to put it on the Internet, it's fair game for anyone to view. And we'll publish on the league website for many, many people to see.

That last one might actually be Deuce himself.

But the Timbers Army weren't going to just let the Sounders have all the fun in the build-up to this rivalry match. See their tweet below and we'll let you search their mentions and the hashtag for those particular pictures:

We here on The Sideline believe that everyone who supports a team in this league deserves the chance to make a silly, scrunched up, crazy-eyed face and post selfie pictures of said facial expression on the Internet and be either lauded or lambasted for looking or not looking very much like Clint Dempsey last September.

So we encourage everyone to take pictures similar to the ones above and use the hashtag #MyDeuceFace to share them on Twitter. It is wholly up to you to choose whether you go the route of the Sounders organization, or the Timbers Army's clever hijacking of the contest and hashtag.
