New Colorado Rapids Designated Player Gabriel Torres made an immediate impact for his club Monday, as he scored the game-winning goal in the Rapids' 2-1 MLS Reserve League win over Chivas USA.

Torres, who joined the Rapids late last week after a sparkling Gold Cup tournament, scored the winner for the visitors in the 84th minute, after entering the match in the 69th minute. The forward shared the Golden Boot with Landon Donovan and Chris Wondolowski at the Gold Cup, and the Rapids will certainly hope he can score in MLS with the regularity that the American duo has shown over the years.

Colorado face Vancouver in MLS regular-season action Saturday, where Torres will look to start his MLS career with a bang.
