USMNT star Clint Dempsey has returned to MLS after seven years in the English Premier League. On Saturday, he officially joined the Seattle Sounders. Here's how he got here:

Nov. 29 - Dec. 12, 2003 – Plays just 20 minutes off the bench in USA's QF run to FIFA Under-20 World Cup in UAE

Jan. 20, 2007 – Makes Fulham debut in 1-1 home draw vs. Tottenham Hotspur


May 5, 2007 – Scores 1st goal for Fulham in a 1-0 home win vs. Liverpool to ease Fulham's relegation fears



June 24, 2007 – Wins his 2nd CONCACAF Gold Cup with USMNT, starting in 2-1 victory over Mexico


May 8, 2008 – Signs contract extension at Fulham to keep him at the EPL club through summer of 2010


May 24, 2009 – Fulham finish 2008-'09 season an all-time best 7th in the standings and qualify for the Europa League with Dempsey as their joint leading scorer (7 EPL goals)


June 2009 – Scores against Egypt, Spain and in the FIFA Confederations Cup final against Brazil, earning the Bronze Ball of the tournament


Aug. 13, 2009 – Dempsey signs second contract extension with Fulham through summer 2013


March 18, 2010 – Helps Fulham to its most famous European victory, scoring on a chip in the 82nd minute to cap a 4-1 return leg triumph and passage to the QFs



May 12, 2010 – Becomes 1st American to appear in a major European cup final when he took the field vs. Atletico Madrid in a 2-1 extra time loss


June 12, 2010 – With the help of England goalkeeper Robert Green, Dempsey scores the 1-1 equalizer in the opening group match


April 27, 2011 – With a brace against Bolton, Dempsey becomes Fulham's all-time English Premier League goal-scoring leader with 33 tallies


June 3, 2011 – Voted Fulham Player of the Year for the first time

April 7, 2012 – Dempsey sets Fulham’s single-season English Premier League goal-scoring record with a brace against Bolton Wanderers that took him to 15 goals

Aug. 31, 2012 – Fulham confirm Dempsey transfer to Tottenham Hotspur on a 3-year contract


Sept. 29, 2012 -- Dempsey's 1st Tottenham goal is the match-winner in a 3-2 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford, Spurs' first away win since Dec. 1989


Jan. 20, 2013 – Gets another dramatic goal against Manchester United, this one a 93rd-minute equalizer in the snow at White Hart Lane to salvage a 1-1 tie


April 11, 2013 – Dempsey's Europa League brace is not enough as Tottenham is bounced from the tournament on penalty kicks by FC Basel


May 29, 2013 -- Named permanent captain of US national team
