Gold Cup: Landon Donovan, Chris Wondolowski & Gabriel Torres share Golden Boot

Neither US national team star Landon Donovan nor Chris Wondolowski scored in the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup final on Sunday. And Panamanian sensation Gabriel Torres didn't find the net either.

Which means the trio have shared the Golden Boot this year as the tournament's co-leading scorers. They each notched five goals.

Donovan, who won the Golden Ball as the player of the tournament, also posted seven assists, but unlike as is the case in MLS, assists are not a tie-breaker at the Gold Cup.

Wondolowski's goals all came in the first two group stage matches for the US. He had a hat-trick in the 6-1 win over Belize and added two more in the 4-1 win over Cuba.

Torres, who is expected to sign with the Colorado Rapids this week, was the main attacking thrust for Panama throughout the tournament. He notched the three goals the Canaleros scored in the group play, including two in the 2-1 win over Mexico. He then added two more in the quarterfinal win over Cuba.

PENEDO WINS GOLDEN GLOVE

He was helpless to stop Brek Shea in the final, but Panamanian goalkeeper Jaime Penedo was nearly flawless in every other game. For his efforts, he was awarded the Golden Glove as the the best goalkeeper of the 2013 Gold Cup.

Penedo, 31, allowed only four goals throughout the tournament, backstopping the Canaleros to their second-ever final appearance. Along the way, he earned two shutouts and helped beat Mexico twice.
